- RECIPE YEAR: 2015
- YIELD: Serves 6
We are aware of guests who have nut allergies, so we created this nut-free granola. You can substitute your favorite dried fruits and add more according to your preference. It smells wonderful when baking!
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/3 cup pure maple syrup
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
- 3/4 cup banana chips
- 1/2 cup dried papaya, diced
- 3/4 cup pitted dates, diced
- 1/2 cup golden raisins
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 300°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Pour the oats in a mound on the prepared baking sheet. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter, then stir in the maple syrup and salt. Drizzle the butter mixture over the oats. Stir well with a rubber spatula and spread the oat mixture out in an even layer. Bake until the oats are lightly colored, about 15 minutes. Let cool. The mixture will crisp as it cools. Add the banana chips, papaya, dates and raisins to the oats and toss to combine. Store in a tightly covered container at room temperature.
