One of our guests said that this is “crack” bacon because it is so addicting. You can’t eat just one piece.

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 pound applewood-smoked bacon
  • Freshly ground pepper, to taste

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 350°F.

In a small bowl, stir together the maple syrup and mustard.

Place the bacon slices on a wire cooling rack and brush the top of each slice with some of the syrup-mustard glaze. Bake the bacon on the rack for 20 minutes.

Turn the slices over, glaze the other side and bake for 20 minutes more. The bacon needs to be thoroughly cooked, to a dark color, or it will look greasy. Remove the bacon from the oven, sprinkle with pepper and serve.
